Authorized Personnel Only for The Gynt Project
September 2012- April 2013

The Gynt Project was a collaboration between the Theater Arts Department and Digital Arts and New Media Program at UC Santa Cruz– directed by Kimberly Jannerone– for which I contributed Authorized Personnel Only. The installation is composed of footage shot on dv mini during the 2010 BP Oil Spill in Grand Isle, LA, USA. Derek Dadian-Smith, Deron Williams, and I travelled to Louisiana to investigate how the oil spill was affecting the communities where it hit hardest. The projected image creates a digital, immersive space for one to be closer to the affected beachside than our physical bodies were allowed at the time this video was made.
